Publisher of QEDNG Olumide Iyanda has been elected deputy president of the Guild of Corporate Online Publishers (GOCOP).
Mr Iyanda, who also serves as convener of the QEDNG Creative Powerhouse Summit, was elected alongside six other members of the new national executive during the Guild’s 9th Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on Wednesday at Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos.
Publisher of NewsDiaryOnline.com, Danlami Nmodu, was elected president of the Guild after receiving 63 votes, defeating the publisher of WorldStage.com, who scored 18 votes.
Chairman of the electoral committee, Yusuf Ozi-Usman, declared Nmodu the winner after the collation of results and confirmed the other members of the executive as duly elected through an affirmative vote.
Other elected officials include Sufuyan Ojeifo of The Conclave as general secretary, Akeem Oyetunji of Prompt News as deputy secretary general, Ngozi Onyekusi of SuperNews.ng as treasurer, Moses Ebosele of City Business News as financial secretary and Kemi Yesufu of Frontline News Online as publicity secretary.
Mr Nmodu succeeds Maureen Chigbo, publisher of Realnews Magazine, who completed a two-term tenure of four years.
The new GOCOP national executive will be sworn in on Thursday.
