Purp crowned winner of Nigerian Idol Season 10

Emerging music talent Purp has been crowned the winner of Nigerian Idol Season 10, following an intense live finale broadcast on Sunday night.

Purp clinched the coveted title after going head-to-head with fellow finalist Raymu in a final showdown that tested vocal strength, stage presence and emotional connection with the audience.

The singer earned the highest number of public votes to become the latest star to join the Nigerian Idol hall of fame.

This year’s finale, hosted by media personality IK Osakioduwa, featured show-stopping performances, celebrity appearances and heartfelt moments that celebrated the journey of this season’s contestants.

The judging panel, made up of Omawumi, Ric Hassani and Iyanya was joined by guest judge 9ice, with all four praising the top two for their resilience, artistry and growth throughout the competition.

Speaking after the win, an emotional Purp said, “This moment feels surreal. I’m so grateful to everyone who voted, supported, and believed in me. This is just the beginning, and I can’t wait to share more music with the world.”

As winner, Purp will receive a prize package that includes N30 million in cash, a brand-new SUV, a DStv Explora with a one-year premium subscription, and a music recording deal that positions them as Nigeria’s next potential music sensation.

Season 10 marked a decade of Nigerian Idol, a franchise that has produced stars like Timi Dakolo, Mercy Chinwo, Kingdom Kroseide and Progress Chukwuyem.

The show, which aired on Africa Magic and was also available on DStv Stream, GOtv and Showmax, has continued to provide a platform for budding Nigerian artistes to showcase their talent.
