Managing director and chief executive officer of Providus Bank Walter Akpani has visited Bola Tinubu in Lagos.
The visit was disclosed in a social media post by the Presidency on Sunday.
“President Tinubu received Walter Akpani, Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Providus Bank, on a courtesy visit in Lagos, where they held discussions on matters of economic growth, financial sector development, and national prosperity,” the post read.
Tinubu was in Lagos from April 2 to 10 for the Easter holiday. During the period, he visited Ogun State to commission the Gateway Cargo International Airport, the Nigeria Customs Service Zone A Headquarters and other projects.
Among those who visited him in Lagos were Governor Dapo Abiodun, Ogun State governorship aspirant Iyabo Obasanjo, chairman of Honeywell Group Oba Otudeko, chairman of Premier Lotto Limited Kessington Adebutu and Awujale of Ijebu hopeful Abimbola Onabanjo.
The president left Lagos on Friday for Bayelsa to inaugurate the 2.9km New Yenagoa City Road One, the 630-metre Angiama–Oporoma bridge, the 42km Sagbama–Ekeremor Road and a 60MW gas turbine project.
Providus Bank last month announced that it had surpassed Nigeria’s revised capital requirements for regional lenders, with a capital base of about N65 billion.
Under the recapitalisation framework of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), regional commercial banks are required to maintain a minimum capital base of N50 billion.
