Ogun State Police Command has invited activist and social critic Adetoun Onajobi, also known as Just Adetoun, over alleged defamation of the character of Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Boluwatife Babaseyi, confirmed the invitation on Wednesday.
He said Just Adetoun’s lawyer has contacted the police following the invitation.
According to Babaseyi, the police are expecting Just Adetoun to honour the invitation.
He said, “We have invited her and are expecting her to honour the invitation. Her lawyer has reached out to us. I will provide updates if there is any development.”
Just Adetoun, an Ogun State-born activist, had posted a series of videos on her social media platforms in which she criticised the governor.
The comments followed a road accident involving Nigerian-British boxer Anthony Joshua in December 2025.
Two of Joshua’s friends and trainers, Latif Ayodele and Sina Ghami, died after their vehicle collided with a stationary truck along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
In the videos, Just Adetoun alleged that Joshua and his friends were abandoned by the Ogun State government and were assisted by the Lagos State government.
She also claimed that Ogun State has no functional ambulance and said she had handled about 700 cases in the state without ambulance support.
Just Adetoun also made allegations against the governor’s personal conduct and accused him of misappropriation of public funds and seizure of properties.
The police did not disclose further details on the allegations but said the matter is under review.
