Singer Blackface has reacted to the link-up between his former Plantashun Boiz bandmates, 2Baba and Faze.
Faze shared a video on Instagram on Saturday of himself and 2Baba singing one of their old songs.
He captioned the post, “E be like say I get small Idoma blood inside me abeg make somebody give me an Idoma name ……❤️❤️❤️ @official2baba and @blackfacenaija the next post gave me sweet memories of my elder brother @badsharpguyz @walenatz @babaleo777 @hookmrbrown una not go understand ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏 I’m waiting for my idoma name.”
The video stirred excitement online with fans praising the duo and calling for a collaboration.
Reacting in the comment section, Blackface wrote, “Nice one my brothers….. loving the spirit @fazealone your idoma name na #Oyilo because na man you be!!! You guys are looking great .. blessings on blessings kings 🙌”
Plantashun Boiz, made up of 2Baba, Faze and Blackface, was formed in the late 1990s. The group released two albums, Body and Soul (2000) and Sold Out (2003), before splitting up in 2004 when 2Baba went solo. They reunited briefly in 2007 for the album Plan B.
In several interviews, Blackface has accused 2Baba of excluding him from attempted reunions and claimed he co-wrote the hit song ‘African Queen.’
On the Curiosity Made Me Ask podcast in 2024, he said, “Without me, they have tried and they have failed. Many times… I’m the plantation.”
However, the singer later softened his stance, calling for a reunion and saying “unity is strength.”
