Big Brother Naija Level Up winner Phyna has buried her younger sister, Ruth Otabor, weeks after a tragic accident.
A video from the burial on Saturday showed Phyna surrounded by friends and fellow ex-BBNaija housemates Christy O and Groovy. They all dressed in black to support her during the emotional ceremony.
Ruth’s remains were taken from Ebony Mortuary in Ikoyi to her residence in Ikorodu, Ogun State, where she was laid to rest.
The 24-year-old was involved in a crash on August 13 near Auchi Polytechnic in Edo State when a truck belonging to the Dangote Group hit her. She had just graduated from the school six days earlier.
Ruth suffered severe injuries in the crash, including the amputation of her leg. She died on August 31 at about 6:30 a.m.
The Otabor family announced her death through their lawyers, Eko Solicitors & Advocates, in a statement Phyna also shared on Instagram. They appealed for privacy as they mourned their loss.
Her death was met with an outpouring of grief from fans, colleagues and friends who later turned up in their numbers to honour her at the burial.
