Singer Peter Okoye, one-half of defunct music duo P-Square, has celebrated a major career milestone—30 years on stage.

The 43-year-old marked the moment on Wednesday with a post on Instagram featuring a powerful throwback photo from his early days in music alongside a more recent image and a video.

In the caption, Peter wrote:
“Over 30 years on stage and still counting! I’m so grateful.”

The nostalgic post quickly drew attention from fans and colleagues alike, many of whom flooded the comment section with congratulatory messages and memories of his journey.

Peter and his twin brother Paul Okoye started their career as a dance and singing group in the early 1990s, originally known as MMPP before adopting the name P-Square. The duo rose to prominence in the mid-2000s with hits like ‘Bizzy Body,’ ‘Do Me,’ ‘No One Like You’ and ‘Personally,’ becoming one of Africa’s most successful music groups.

Despite a highly publicised split in 2017 that saw both brothers pursue solo careers as Mr P and Rudeboy respectively, P-Square reunited in 2021 and thrilled fans with live performances, including a global tour in 2022.

However, the reunion was short-lived. In August 2024, Paul confirmed that P-Square had broken up again.

Peter later echoed that sentiment in a statement, saying: “There will be nothing like P-Square forever. I am my own Square.”

He added that fans should allow both brothers to grow individually without constant comparisons.

Peter has since embraced his solo career fully, telling fans he has found joy and peace on his path as Mr P.
