Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi has said he was not feeling well after attending an event in Enugu on Friday.
Mr Obi disclosed this in a post on his X page on Saturday, explaining that he sought medical attention and was advised by a doctor to rest.
“Earlier in Enugu, I was not feeling well. I visited the hospital where the doctor gave me some medication and advised me to take a day or two days rest,” Obi wrote.
“In obedience to the doctor’s advice, I will not be able to meet up with all my scheduled engagements within and outside the country this weekend. I sincerely apologise for any inconveniences this might cause and humbly plead for understanding.”
Before the health scare, Obi said he attended a tourism event in Enugu and later visited Good Hope Specialist Hospital, Isulo, Orumba South LGA of Anambra State, where he made a N10 million contribution to support its acquisition and revitalisation by the Aguata Diocese of the Church of Nigeria.
He also proceeded to Owerri to attend a dinner in honour of former Kaduna State governor Nasir El-Rufai, organised by Barrister Nnaemeka Maduagwu.
