The family of veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie has called for the arrest of a TikToker who shared a false report claiming that the actor had died.
Leo Edochie, the actor’s eldest son, made this known in a Facebook post on Thursday night, stating that the matter had been reported to the Department of State Services.
Sharing a photo of the TikToker, he wrote, “This young man posted a video on TikTok saying that our father Chief Pete Edochie is dead. His TikTok handle is @ONE_BOR 001. Anyone with information that will lead to his arrest will be handsomely rewarded in cash I have contacted DSS and they are on his trail. DM me with the information,as soon as he is arrested,you will get your reward in cash.”
The death rumour circulated widely on social media, causing concern among fans before it was dismissed by the actor’s family.
Pete has repeatedly faced false reports about his death over the years. He had earlier reacted to such claims, saying he remains alive and will die only when it is his time.
Leo also dismissed the latest claim in a separate video, describing it as false and malicious. He said the family received several calls and messages following the viral post and stressed that his father is alive and in good health.
The latest incident adds to a series of recurring death hoaxes involving the veteran actor, prompting the family to warn against spreading unverified information online.
