Perpetual Ukadike reflects on historic reign as Faith Ekwebenam becomes Miss International Nigeria 2025

2024 Miss International Nigeria, Perpetual Ukadike, has bid farewell to her reign while reflecting on her transformative journey.

Perpetual took to Instagram on Monday sharing photos of herself.

She wrote, “Preparing for Miss International was one of the most transformative moments in my life. There was a lot of uncertainties, fear of the unknown with a crippling weight of self doubt.

“I still prepared to the best of my ability, leaving Nigeria with Hope, belief in myself and in God that one way or another, I will make Nigeria proud.

“From a country stereotyped to have never placed at Miss International to a country not only placing Top 10 but breaking record as the 1st African Country to win a Missosology choice award 🏆 @missosology_org. We didn’t just make history, we changed the narrative for the future of Nigeria Pageantry.

“I’m deeply proud, honored and humbled to have had such great opportunity to serve. Thank you @missinternationalofficial for giving me a life changing experience that will remain ever green in my heart 💕

Her successor, Faith Ekwebenam, representing Anambra State, emerged as the winner of the Miss International Nigeria 2025 pageant. The grand finale, held on Sunday, saw Ekwebenam outshine other contestants to clinch the national crown. She will now represent Nigeria at the 63rd Miss International pageant, scheduled for 27 November 2025 at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium in Shibuya, Tokyo, Japan.

At the conclusion of the highly competitive event, Miss Lagos was named first runner-up, while Miss Bauchi, Miss Edo, Miss Cross River and Miss Nasarawa placed as second to fifth runners-up.

Ekwebenam’s victory continues Nigeria’s steady participation at Miss International, following in the footsteps of Perpetual Ukadike, who proudly carried the country’s sash at the 2024 edition of the global contest.

The Miss International pageant, considered one of the world’s “Big Four” beauty competitions, emphasises not only beauty and poise but also cultural exchange and advocacy.

In a notable twist for Nigeria’s pageant scene, Onyinyechi Basil, also representing Anambra State, was crowned Miss Universe Nigeria 2025 in a separate contest held in Lagos, placing Anambra at the centre of national pageantry attention.
