Patricia Obozuwa appointed MD of Nigeria Global Reputation Management Project

Global Communications and sustainability leader Patricia Obozuwa has been appointed managing director of the Nigeria Global Reputation Management Project, a national initiative powered by the National Orientation Agency (NOA).

The appointment was announced on Monday.

The project is designed to shape and strengthen Nigeria’s global reputation through communications, cultural diplomacy and collaboration across sectors.

Mrs Obozuwa brings over two decades of experience in communications, government affairs and sustainability.

She began her career in 1997 as an assistant curator at Nimbus African Art Gallery before moving to the British Council as arts and sponsorship manager.

She later joined Procter & Gamble as corporate communications and brand PR manager for West Africa, rising to become head of external relations, Nigeria and corporate communications leader, Sub-Saharan Africa.

Obozuwa went on to serve as chief communications and public affairs officer at GE Africa, where she founded the GE Kujenga corporate social responsibility platform and the GE Lagos Garage, a hub for advanced manufacturing skills development.

In December 2020, she was appointed vice president for public affairs, communications and sustainability, Africa, at The Coca-Cola Company.

She also founded Greenbow Advisory, a consultancy focused on communications and sustainability.

She sits on the board of The Water Trust, a US-headquartered non-profit organisation operating in East Africa and is a member of the Lagos State Industry Advisory Board for the Yaba ICT Hub/Cluster project.

Obozuwa holds a BSc in accounting from Obafemi Awolowo University, a postgraduate degree in business administration/leadership and sustainability from the University of Cumbria and a certificate from the Corporate Affairs Academy, SaĂŻd Business School, University of Oxford.

Her appointment was celebrated by the platform Leading Ladies Africa in a post on Monday, describing the project as an effort to ensure Nigeria is seen on the global stage not only through its challenges but also through its creativity and cultural strengths.
