Pastor Iluyomade serenades wife seated on altar with love song during church service

Pastor Idowu Iluyomade, former senior pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) City of David Parish, has serenaded his wife Siju Iluyomade with a love song and words of adoration during a church service at their new church, The Family Fellowship.

A clip shared from the service showed Siju seated on the altar as Iluyomade sang to her romantically while the congregation looked on.

He also showered her with affectionate words as she remained smiling on the altar.

Iluyomade said, “When I looked at you from afar, I said God must be showing off when he made you. You were sitting on an arm chair, I looked around you, there were spurs of war. All those men unadvisedly trying to get you up to dance.

“They were all there. And I told my friends, they used to call us angels of the night but that is gone with Egypt. And it went when I met you. And they said if you go for this one, that is your delve.

“And I said ‘Yes, she is worth dying for.’ I look at you, I noticed your volumetous lips, and your hair, long hair. It wasn’t wig and you kept it together with two brown and gold chop sticks.”

The romantic display has sparked mixed reactions on social media. While some praised the couple, others found it inappropriate for a church setting.

“I’m so tired of this 2. Honestly speaking,” one user wrote.

Another commented, “This is songs of Solomon. Beautiful to watch 😂.”

“So sweet to hearing. Love is a beautiful thing,” someone else added.

A more critical comment read, “Pls what is this? Is this a church or a concert? This 2 should get a room please.”

Pastor Iluyomade launched The Family Fellowship after his suspension from RCCG in June 2024.

His exit followed backlash over the lavish celebration of his wife’s 60th birthday, held shortly after the tragic death of prominent church member and former Access Bank CEO, Herbert Wigwe, in a US helicopter crash.

The Family Fellowship held its first public service on January 19 at the Civic Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.
