Nigerian sitcom Papa Ajasco & Company is returning to television with a rerun of its Gen Z Papi season.

Producer Wale Adenuga Jr. said the move followed persistent calls from viewers since the weekly broadcast ended in July 2025.

He said, “The feedback on our Gen Z Papi season has been really awesome, and since we ended the weekly broadcast in July 2025, we have been receiving multiple calls and messages for a rerun of Gen Z Papi.”

Adenuga Jr. added that while work is ongoing on a new season, the team decided to reward fans’ loyalty.
“We appreciate this huge display of interest, and even though we are working hard on an exciting new season, we have decided to have a rerun of all 37 episodes of the Gen Z Papi season,” he said.

The rerun begins November 25 and will air on stations such as NTA Network, TVC Lagos, MiTV Lagos, BCOS Ibadan, ITV Abuja, ARTV Kano, RSTV Port Harcourt, PRTV Jos and ITV Benin.

Episodes are also available on YouTube via the waptvchannel.

The Gen Z Papi season reimagines Papa Ajasco as a Gen Z Afrobeats star dealing with fame, family and rivalry with a fellow artiste, Emperor Agu.

The storyline features familiar characters like Mama Ajasco, Pa James, Miss Pepeiye and Boy Alinco, along with new additions including Jide Kosoko, Jude Chukwuka, Francis Odega, Rotimi Salami, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Nobert Young, Jaiye Kuti and Shirley Igwe.

First launched in 1996, Papa Ajasco remains one of Nigeria’s longest-running comedy series. The show was refreshed in 2024 to appeal more to younger viewers.

The rerun has drawn excitement on social media, with fans expressing nostalgia for the classic family comedy.
