Actor Abiodun Ayoyinka, popularly known as Papa Ajasco, has received cash support from social media personality King Mitchy, following his recent comments about financial struggles.
Abiodun spoke about his situation during an interview with Lucky Udu, where he explained that despite decades of work on the long running comedy series Papa Ajasco and Company, his earnings per episode remain modest.
In a video shared online on Tuesday, Mitchy was seen kneeling as she presented a bundle of money to the actor. The gesture drew reactions from fans who praised the show of support.
Abiodun later took to Instagram to appreciate her, writing, “I’m truly humbled and deeply grateful for this incredible gift … thank you my daughter ❤️ 🙏🏾”
He had earlier thanked supporters who helped him acquire a mobile phone, writing, “’I’m truly humbled and deeply grateful for this incredible gift @royalcomputersystems @officialojmakanaki thank you 🙏🏾”
He also expressed appreciation to Lucky Udu for giving him a platform to speak about his needs.
In the interview, Abiodun revealed that he had to ask for public support due to financial challenges, a move that sparked concern among fans of the veteran actor. He is widely known for his role in Papa Ajasco and Company, a television series created by Wale Adenuga, which has aired for decades and remains one of Nigeria’s most recognised comedy shows.
Following his appeal, several individuals and organisations have stepped in to offer assistance.
