Filmmaker Toyin Abraham has expressed gratitude after her latest movie, Oversabi Aunty, continued its strong box office run in cinemas across Nigeria and West Africa.
Taking to her Instagram page on Monday, the actress thanked God and fans for their support. She wrote, “I may not have the perfect words, but my heart is full. Thank You, Lord🙏 and thank you to every single person watching and supporting Oversabi Aunty. I am deeply grateful. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
“Oversabi Aunty is still showing in cinemas near you, keep watching, keep spreading the word. I love you all. Thank you again and again. #OversabiAunty.”
Earlier, film distribution company FilmOne announced that the movie had grossed N711.5 million in just 18 days, making it the fourth highest-grossing Nollywood film of all time in West Africa.
Sharing the update, the distributor wrote, “West Africa, you showed up and showed out in an Oversabi way 🥳🤭 Thank you for the love. In just 18 days, Oversabi Aunty grossed N711.5M, making it the 4th Highest Nollywood Film of all time in West Africa.
“Thank you to everyone for the love and support so far. This win is for all of us. ❤️ #OversabiAunty is still showing in cinemas nationwide and is showing in select cinemas in UK!”
The milestone marks a personal record for Toyin, as it is the first time one of her films has crossed the N700 million mark at the box office. The movie also ranked as the second highest-grossing film of the weekend at the time of reporting.
Oversabi Aunty was released in cinemas on December 19, 2025. The film centres on Toun, a well-meaning but overly involved church usher whose actions often put her in trouble.
The cast includes Mike Ezuruonye, Efe Irele, Queen Nwokoye, Jemima Osunde, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tana Adelana and Toyin Afolayan.
The film remains in cinemas nationwide and continues to draw audiences weeks after its release.
