Billionaire businessman Femi Otedola has announced the release date of his memoir titled Making It Big, set to be launched on August 18.
Mr Otedola made the announcement on Thursday on his X (formerly Twitter) account.
He described the book as a deeply personal and reflective account of his journey through business and life.
“The lessons, setbacks, and triumphs that shaped my path are almost ready for you,” he wrote.
“In these pages, I’ve shared the real stories – the moments of doubt, the breakthroughs, and the principles that guided me through it all.”
He added that the book aims to inspire emerging entrepreneurs and visionaries across the globe by providing insight into the high-stakes world of business and the realities behind success.
Otedola, a former chairman of Forte Oil and founder of Zenon Petroleum and Gas Limited, played a major role in shaping Nigeria’s downstream oil and gas industry.
In recent years, he has expanded into power generation through Geregu Power Plc, which was listed on the Nigerian Exchange in 2022.
He also holds a significant stake in FirstBank of Nigeria Holdings, where he currently serves as chairman of the board.
Prior to Thursday’s formal announcement, Otedola had hinted at the memoir in a reflective post shared on Wednesday.
In it, he spoke about the evolution of entrepreneurship in Nigeria and noted the importance of resilience and learning from failure.
“This transformation didn’t happen overnight. It’s the result of perseverance, resilience, and the lessons learned from countless setbacks,” he wrote.
“I’ve walked this path myself, facing challenges and breakthroughs that shaped not just my career but my outlook on what it means to succeed.”
Otedola’s forthcoming book places him among a growing group of Nigerian business leaders who have opted to document their professional journeys in writing, offering valuable insights to the next generation of entrepreneurs and business thinkers.
