Actress Opeyemi Aiyeola has reacted to a public apology from actor Jamiu Azeez, her godson, as she shared principles that guide her life.
Azeez apologised on Instagram on Thursday for acting “childish” and causing her pain. He described her as a sister, a mother figure, a confidant, and someone who has supported him. He said he regretted the hurt he caused.
Despite the apology, Opeyemi has not responded publicly to accept it.
On Friday, she shared on Instagram two of her key life rules, writing:
“You see rules no4 & 6
NEVER LET EMOTIONS WEIGH YOU DOWN
NEVER LET THEM SEE YOU FINISH plsssssssssssssss write them boldly in capitals for your own good 🫡✌️❤️”
Opeyemi has been a prominent figure in Nigerian film for over two decades. She survived an emergency surgery during a holiday in 2024 and thanked fans and colleagues for their support.
Her recent commentary follows a history of outspoken moments on industry conduct.
Earlier this year, she responded to a remark from colleague Eniola Badmus about her hairline, stressing that comments from fellow professionals should be respectful.
