Omolara Ismail appointed executive director at Jaiz Bank

Omolara Ismail has been appointed executive director of Jaiz Bank Plc.

The bank disclosed the appointment in a statement issued on Monday and signed by its company secretary Mohammed Shehu.

According to the statement, the appointment took effect on February 28 and has received approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria.

“In accordance with Nigeria Exchange Limited (NGX) Rulebook, Jaiz Bank Plc hereby notifies NGX and the general public of the appointment of Omolara Muinat Ismail as executive director, effective February 28, 2026,” the bank said.

Jaiz Bank said the appointment is part of efforts to strengthen its leadership team and support growth in retail and SME banking.

Mrs. Ismail previously served as general manager for business development and head of the Lagos and South Directorate at Jaiz Bank.

She has more than 25 years of experience in retail, commercial and corporate banking.

Her career includes roles at Guaranty Trust Bank Plc (GTB) where she served as a non-executive director and chairman of the board credit committee of the bank’s subsidiary in The Gambia.

Omolara Ismail is a chartered banker and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria and the National Institute of Credit Administration.

She holds an MBA from the University of Ilorin and Bangor University in the United Kingdom and has attended executive programmes at international institutions.

Jaiz Bank reported an increase in earnings in 2025.

The bank’s pretax profit rose to N31.3 billion in 2025 from N24.4 billion in 2024.

Fourth-quarter pretax profit stood at N8.1 billion compared with N7.4 billion recorded in the same period of the previous year.

Net income from financing and investing activities increased to N97.4 billion in 2025 from N76.5 billion in 2024.
