Gospel singer Alayo Melody has reacted to online reports claiming that burial arrangements for fellow gospel singer Bunmi Akinnanu, also known as Omije Ojumi, had been announced.
He shared a screenshot of the false post on his Instagram page on Friday and wrote:
“False! False! False! ❌❌ ignore it ❌
Real information about Evangelist Bunmi AKINNANU Omije Ojumi will be posted soon 🙏.”
The post came after misleading content circulated online suggesting details about her burial had been released. Alayo Melody urged fans to ignore such posts and wait for official information.
Bunmi Akinnanu, a Nigerian gospel singer and evangelist, died on January 12, at a hospital in Lagos. She was widely known for her hit song ‘Omije Ojumi’, which became popular in churches and Christian gatherings across Nigeria.
Prior to her death, Bunmi Akinnanu had publicly sought prayers for a health challenge. Videos from late 2025 showed her receiving prayers for her condition during church services.
