Gospel singer Bunmi Akinnaanu, popularly known as Omije Ojumi, has sparked concern among fans after a video of her looking ill surfaced online.

In the viral clip, the singer was seen seated during what appeared to be a prayer session, crying and struggling to speak. A bandage was spotted on her hand and her leg appeared visibly swollen as she kept touching it in pain.

A pastor leading the session placed his foot on her’s and prayed passionately, declaring that her healing was near. He urged her not to hide her pain and to hold on to faith that she would testify to God’s goodness.

The emotional video, which has been shared widely on social media, left many of her supporters worried and offering prayers for her recovery.

One Instagram user, Steven, wrote, “We take these prayers to the throne of grace in Jesus’ name.”

Oluwaseyi said, “Lord heal her.”

Martins added, “You are healed by the touch of Christ in Jesus’ name, Amen.”

Bunmi rose to fame through her hit song ‘Omije Ojumi,’ which became an anthem in many churches and gospel circles.

In a past interview, Bunmi revealed she had to borrow clothes and jewellery to shoot the video for ‘Omije Ojumi.’

“I didn’t have the money then. Someone gave me the clothes and warned that if anything happened to them, it would be my responsibility,” she said.

The singer has also faced controversy in recent years. In 2024, a cleric in Osun State, Apostle Niyi Peter, was arraigned after allegedly calling her a prostitute and threatening her on WhatsApp. He was later granted bail by the court.

As of the time of this report, the cause of Bunmi Akinnaanu’s illness has not been made public. Her team is yet to release an official statement.
