Olubadan-elect Ladoja arrives Ibadan

Rashidi Ladoja

Former Oyo State governor and Olubadan-elect Rashidi Ladoja has returned to Ibadan ahead of his coronation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

Mr Ladoja arrived at his family compound in Isale-Osi on Monday.

He was received at the Ibadan end of the Lagos-Ibadan expressway by a large crowd of supporters who escorted him in a long convoy of vehicles.

Family members and friends welcomed him to the compound, where a special interfaith prayer session was held, featuring both Christian and Muslim clerics.

The Olubadan-elect is expected to move later to his residence at Bodija, where visitors have begun paying homage.

Ladoja’s return has been widely anticipated by Ibadan indigenes following his nomination as Olubadan-elect by the Olubadan-in-Council on Monday, August 4.

The nomination, which was presided over by the Balogun of Ibadanland Tajudeen Ajibola has been forwarded to governor Seyi Makinde for approval, after which the state government is expected to announce a date for the coronation and presentation of staff of office.
