The Olubadan of Ibadanland Oba Rashidi Ladoja has denied reports of a rift between him and Oyo State governor Seyi Makinde.
He said the claims were not true.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his media aide Adeola Oloko the monarch said there was no disagreement between both men.
“The attention of the Olubadan has been drawn to reports that there is a rift between the governor and Kabiyesi,” the statement said.
“We wish to make it clear that there is no rift.”
The Olubadan also denied reports that he left Ibadan in protest or planned to boycott a coronation ceremony.
He said he is in Ibadan and carrying out his duties.
The statement added that the planned coronation of three high chiefs was affected by their request for postponement.
It said the chiefs informed the Olubadan that they would not be available and asked for a new date.
The chiefs are Sharafadeen Ali, Kol Babalola and Akeem Adewoyin.
They were to be elevated to the position of Obas at a ceremony scheduled at Mapo Hall.
The statement said the information had been communicated to the state government through the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.
The development follows reports that the monarch had travelled out of Ibadan and might not attend the event.
