Olayinka Adebanjo welcomes son 10 months after revealing tragic loss of 28-year-old only child

Actress Olayinka Adebanjo has welcomed a baby boy, ten months after she shared on Biola Adebayo’s podcast the tragic death of her only child, Adeniyi Ishola, aged 28.

In January, Olayinka recounted how her son, a nurse, slumped and died while playing football. She revealed the pain and stigma she faced after his death, admitting she had considered adoption but still longed to have a child of her own.

“I have seen a lot after the loss of my son. Some people have even mocked me, calling me barren in my old age,” she said tearfully.

During the podcast, Biola Adebayo suggested surrogacy as an option, estimating the cost at N15 to N20 million. With public support, N15 million was raised for Olayinka’s surrogacy and a fertility hospital stepped in to reduce charges, covering most of the procedure and allowing her to use the remaining funds to start a business.

On Saturday, Biola shared the joyful news: “And just 10 months after we have A BABY BOY. To the glory of God, today we welcome aunty’s Yinka’s son. I am more than grateful to God for this special gift. Thank you Jesus. Thank you to everyone who made this possible, I couldn’t have done it without you all. Thank you to our doctor Ivie of @the_fertility_doctor. God bless you ma.”

Olayinka also released a video appreciating everyone who supported her through the journey.
