The Ogun State Government says it will prosecute street-pop entertainer Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, over multiple road crashes recorded in the state.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Ministry of Justice, the government said it is “expediting action on the prosecution of Ademola Abiodun … in relation to the vehicular incident of 1 November 2025,” adding that it is working with the police to ensure justice for those affected.

DJ Chicken was involved in a crash in Sagamu after his car reportedly hit two motorcycles, injuring the rider and a female passenger. A viral video from the scene showed residents dragging him out of his car and assaulting him.

According to the statement, the mob reacted after the entertainer “was unremorseful and attempted to leave the scene of the incident, which provoked an angry reaction from passersby.”

The government added that police operatives “immediately commenced investigations while mindful to prioritise the medical care, privacy, and recovery of the victims.”

The crash triggered fresh criticism online, with many social media users calling for authorities to ban the DJ from driving. Some commenters alleged that this was his third accident in two months, describing him as a danger on the road.

Responding to the incident, DJ Chicken said he was unfairly attacked.
“When Dangote truck kpayin people, nobody beat Dangote oh. Because I just hit someone, dem dent me in Sagamu,” he said in a video circulated online.

Attorney-General of Ogun State Oluwasina Ogungbade has ordered officials to conclude the case file and begin prosecution. The condition of the injured victims was still being monitored at press time.
