Actor Odunlade Adekola has lost his father, Pastor N. A. Adekola.

The 48-year-old made the announcement in a post shared on Instagram on Saturday.

He posted a photo of the elderly man with the short caption, “Rest on my daddy.”

Although Odunlade did not reveal the cause of death or other details, colleagues, fans and well-wishers took to the comment section to sympathise with him.

Pastor Adekola was known within the Christ Apostolic Church community, where Odunlade’s mother is a deaconess.

As of the time of this report, the family has not announced funeral arrangements.

Odunlade, who hails from Abeokuta in Ogun State, is one of the prominent actors in the Yoruba film industry. He is also the founder of Odunlade Adekola Film Production (OAFP).

He has featured in numerous films including Sunday Dagboru, Taxi Driver: Oko Ashewo, Adebayo Aremu Abere, and recently Labake Olododo and Owambe Thieves.
