General Overseer of Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention and Deliverance Ministry, Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere, popularly known as Odumeje, has criticised pastors, saying they refuse to speak on issues involving the government.
The cleric, while addressing his congregation, said many pastors benefit from the system and choose not to comment on national matters.
He said, “Bad government they can never talk about it. Fake people. I don’t move by people; I follow you based on your spiritual attitude. And everyone who stands on the altar in this government, you must talk.”
Odumeje also accused church leaders of protecting themselves while giving followers items for spiritual protection.
“You guys are the ones causing it, giving pastors a lot, with police and MOPOLs to guard them. But they will give you olive oil and sticker and tell you to go home. You trek home, while he goes home with police. One miracle you have never done in your church, but you’d be bragging that you are Bishop,” he said.
The cleric made similar claims in October when he called out Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Bishop David Oyedepo, accusing them of refusing to speak on the state of the country.
He said the senior pastors criticised the government during the tenure of former President Goodluck Jonathan but no longer comment on current national issues.
“This is the worst government now in Nigeria. See where Ghana is insulting Nigerians. Even Ghana’s currency is stronger now than that of Nigeria,” he said.
He added, “See Adeboye, when it was the time of Goodluck Jonathan complaining ‘fuel is on the high price’, and now nobody is talking. These are people that are supposed to be talking about the bad government. Adeboye and Oyedepo. They are supposed to carry it strongly.
“Things are going costly every blessed day. Nobody cares anymore. Nobody is talking because they have already seen bad government in Nigeria as a normal life.”
Odumeje also urged Nigerian youths to take action, saying they must take back the country from what he described as “businessmen posing as politicians.”
