Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has won in the polling unit of a former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) John Odigie-Oyegun.
Mr Obaseki polled 109 votes to defeat APC’s candidate Osagie Ize-Iyamu who garnered 40 votes.
Oyegun had in a last minute effort told Edo residents to “vote their conscience”, refusing to endorse Ize-Iyamu.
The former APC leader had spoken against the forceful removal of Obaseki from the APC.
