‘No Turning Back’ singer Gaise Baba marks 39th birthday with emotional tribute to late mother

Singer Gaise Baba has taken to social media to celebrate his 39th birthday with a heartfelt message reflecting on the recent loss of his mother and the transformation in his music career.

The ‘No Turning Back’ singer, whose name is Samuel Ibuoye, posted photos of himself on Instagram on Tuesday alongside an emotional caption.

“It’s my birthday today. It’s a mixed feelings kinda birthday though. Mummy would have called/messaged me at 12midnight; clockwork, without fail,” he wrote.

“And so last night I teared up a bit, cos I knew I won’t be getting that call this time. On the other hand, as an artiste, my life has literally changed in the last three months! So I guess you can see how it’s a day with conflicted emotions.”

Gaise, whose mother died this year, added that despite the pain, he remains grateful for all he has experienced.

“In all things still, we give thanks. For the pleasant and the painful, we judge Him faithful! This is 39, and Abba’s golden boy is ever evolving like fine wine.

“The LORD Himself mothers me now, and I experience His multi-breasted-ness! Happy Birthday, Samuel Gboluwaga Akinade IBUOYE, Ọmọ Sarah!!!!”

The singer has enjoyed renewed attention in the past few months following the success of ‘No Turning Back II’, a viral gospel track he released with singer Lawrence Oyor.

The song stirred mixed reactions online, with some critics questioning its message while others praised its spiritual boldness and contemporary appeal.

Gaise Baba has remained resolute, insisting the song was born out of divine inspiration and represents a new sound for gospel music in Nigeria.

He is also the founder of the LightOut initiative and the Aramanda Festival, two platforms aimed at inspiring young people through music and faith.
