Nigeria LNG Limited (NLNG) has received the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Most Compliant Taxpayer Award for the third time.
According to a statement issued by Sophia Horsfall, General Manager, External Relations and Sustainable Development, the award was given under the FIRS Compliant Taxpayer Award and Recognition Programme organised by the Taxpayer Services Department to acknowledge organisations that meet their tax obligations.
NLNG received the same award in 2024 and was named Most Supportive Taxpayer in 2021.
FIRS, in a statement, said NLNG’s record of tax compliance contributes to national revenue.
Company representatives, including Anne-Marie Palmer Ikuku, Manager, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs; Ibukun Oni, Head, Tax Planning and Strategy; and Iwokiri Aprioku, Head, Public Relations, received the award during the FIRS Day at the 2025 Lagos International Trade Fair by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
NLNG’s managing director and chief executive officer, Philip Mshelbila, said the award reflects the company’s culture of responsibility.
“This recognition from the Federal Inland Revenue Service is appreciated. It reflects the collective effort of our people, our Board, management and employees who remain committed to the highest standards of compliance and accountability. We take pride in contributing our fair share to national development, and we will continue to uphold practices that support Nigeria’s economic progress,” he said.
He added that tax compliance remains part of NLNG’s values and its aim to be a globally competitive energy company.
