Nkiru Balonwu to speak at MIPAD Recognition Week 2025

Founder of The Africa Soft Power Group, Nkiru Balonwu, will join global thought leaders in New York on Friday, September 26 at the Most Influential 100 Recognition Week 2025, organised by Most Influential People of African Descent (MIPAD).

Ms Balonwu announced her participation in an Instagram post on Thursday, revealing that she will be speaking on a panel titled “Diplomacy in Action: Africa & the Diaspora’s Soft Power on the Rise.”

The session will focus on how Africa’s culture and creative economy are shaping global perceptions and strengthening the continent’s diplomatic influence.

Nkiru Balonwu, who delivered the keynote address at the QEDNG Creative Powerhouse Summit, described soft power as an area she is “truly passionate about,” emphasising its role in positioning Africa on the world stage through its people, art, innovation and storytelling.

MIPAD Recognition Week celebrates the achievements of individuals of African descent who have made significant contributions in various fields globally. The event aims to recognise and amplify their positive impact, aligning with the ethos of the International Decade for People of African Descent, which emphasises recognition, justice and development.

It is open to past and current honorees, supporters, and partners, offering opportunities for sponsorship, congratulatory ads and speaking engagements.
