Veteran actor Nkem Owoh joined family, friends and colleagues on Saturday to sympathise with his law and fellow actor Chinwe Owoh, who laid her husband Frank Owoh to rest in Udi, Enugu State.

Videos shared on Instagram on Saturday showed Chinwe breaking down in tears as her husband’s casket was taken to the burial ground and covered with sand.

The solemn occasion was filled with emotion as mourners struggled to hold back tears while the actress wailed in pain.

Chinwe, who lost her husband in April, was supported by relatives and industry colleagues who came to pay their last respects. Among those spotted at the event were Bob Manuel, Emeka Rollas and Charles Awurum.

Nkem, popularly known as Osuofia, was dressed in the chosen burial material for close family members and was seen exchanging pleasantries with guests at the event.

Chinwe and her late husband were married for decades and had children together.

The burial further sparked renewed interest in Chinwe’s relationship with Nkem Owoh. Over the years, many fans have wrongly assumed that the two actors are husband and wife due to their shared surname and frequent appearances together in Nollywood films.

However, multiple sources have confirmed that Chinwe is not Nkem’s wife but his in-law. Nkem has been married to Ngozi Owoh since 1998 and the couple had two daughters together, one of whom sadly died in 2023.

Despite the persistent rumours, Chinwe and Nkem have never been romantically linked. The confusion, mostly spread on social media, has been clarified several times by entertainment blogs and fan forums.

In 2015, Chinwe stated they are related through marriage, but not as spouses
