Nigerians dig up old video of Peller’s comment on US streamer IShowSpeed

Nigerians have resurfaced an old video of streamer Peller in which he said he would snub American YouTuber IShowSpeed if he ever visited Nigeria.

In the clip, Peller complained that IShowSpeed had ignored his messages and made remarks suggesting he would dismiss him if he came to the country.

The video began circulating again after recent scenes in Lagos where Peller was unable to get close to IShowSpeed during the American streamer’s visit to Nigeria. Videos shared online showed security personnel blocking Peller from approaching him, sparking widespread reactions.

IShowSpeed, whose real name is Darren Watkins Jr., is in Nigeria as part of his Speed Does Africa tour. During the visit, he marked his 21st birthday and celebrated reaching 50 million subscribers on YouTube. He was also seen spending time with Nigerian content creator Jarvis.

In contrast, Peller was repeatedly prevented from meeting IShowSpeed, despite several attempts. At one point, he was seen riding a horse while calling out to the YouTuber, but he did not get a chance to speak with him.

After the incident, Peller accused security operatives of demanding money before allowing access. He said, “Bouncer dey tell me say make I bring N1 million to see iShowSpeed. Imagine. Na so e dey collect money from the remaining people. You wicked oh. Una do me strong thing. Make I bring N1m to see iShowSpeed for what reason?”

He later addressed his followers, saying, “I thought I would meet him,” adding that the situation left him hurt and embarrassed.
