Entrepreneur Chioma Goodhair has taken a swipe at Nigerian artistes, calling their performances “lazy” and urging them to learn from Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, who recently performed at The Headies.
Chioma’s remarks came shortly after Juma, who is married to actress Iyabo Ojo’s daughter Priscilla, was named East African Artist of the Year at the award ceremony held on Sunday night.
Taking to Snapchat, Chioma expressed disappointment with the level of preparation many Nigerian performers put into their craft, especially when compared to Juma’s Headies performance.
“I wish Nigerian performers would start putting more effort into their performances like Juma did,” she wrote. “I find a lot of their performances lazy and lackluster. It lacks rehearsal and substance. And it’s unfair considering the love their fans show.”
Chioma had previously disclosed that she played a role in introducing Priscilla Ojo to Juma Jux, whose full name is Juma Mussa Mkambala.
The couple has been making headlines this year, first with their Nikkai wedding and later with their Yoruba traditional wedding.
