The executive director of the National Film and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), Shaibu Husseini, has congratulated filmmaker Kunle Afolayan on a new partnership between his company and the Republic of Benin.
On Thursday, Kunle shared a post with the caption, “KUNLE AFOLAYAN PRODUCTION, REPUBLIC OF BENIN FORGE HISTORIC PARTNERSHIP – Signs MoU in Lagos”.
Dr Husseini also took to his Instagram page to congratulate the filmmaker, writing, “Huge congratulations to Nigeria and Africa’s best @kunleafo and his KAP Group for signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Lagos with the Republic of Benin, following a high-level invitation from the Beninese Presidency to establish a strategic partnership focused on transforming the audio-visual and film production landscape in the region. No doubt, this landmark move will redefine in no small measure the future of African storytelling and cross-border creative collaboration.

Kunle is the founder of KAP Group, a media and film production company with interests in film, television and content distribution. The company operates KAP Motion Pictures, which has produced titles such as The Figurine, October 1, Citation and the Netflix series Aníkúlápó.
KAP also runs the KAP Film Village and Resort in Igbojaye, Oyo State, a facility designed to support film production and tourism.
The agreement with the Republic of Benin is expected to strengthen collaboration in film production, training and content development between both countries.
