Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has approved the appointment of Sherifat Adegbenro as acting chief executive officer of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (Eko DisCo).
The commission announced this in a public notice on Monday.
“The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission has formally approved the appointment of Ms. Sherifat Adegbenro as the acting Chief Executive Officer of Eko Electricity Distribution PLC,” it said.
It added that the appointment follows the code of corporate governance for the Nigerian electricity supply industry.
“This appointment ensures leadership continuity pending the DisCo’s appointment of a substantive CEO,” the statement said.
Before her appointment, Ms Adegbenro served as deputy CEO of the company.
She replaces Wola Joseph-Condotti, who has served as interim CEO since January.
Sherifat Adegbenro appointment follows the resignation of Rekhiat Momoh, who led the company for about two years.
In December 2025, Transgrid Enerco Limited completed the acquisition of a 60 percent stake in the company.
