Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has denied claims that he has moved on from his wife, actress Regina Daniels, to another woman seen with him in a viral video.

The video, which circulated on Friday, showed Senator Nwoko with a lady, leading to online speculation that she was his new partner following reports of a marital dispute with Daniels.

In a statement posted on X on Saturday, the senator said the video was taken during a courtesy visit from members of the Peace Ambassadors initiative led by Ambassador Adejo Sule.

“A video recently brought to my attention shows a young woman who visited with her team under the Peace Ambassadors initiative, led by Ambassador Dr. Adejo Sule, and it is now being circulated online with false claims attempting to affiliate me with her,” Nwoko said.

He explained that photographs and videos are often taken whenever he receives guests or attends public events, describing such actions as routine.

“It is therefore mischievous and malicious for anyone to exploit such gestures to fabricate false narratives,” he added.

Nwoko stated that he has no personal or private connection with the woman and warned individuals and media platforms spreading the claim to desist or face legal action.

He said, “Any further propagation of this false narrative will attract appropriate legal action. The Cybercrime (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2015 remains in full force and applies to anyone involved in the deliberate spread of falsehood or defamation in cyberspace.”

The clarification comes amid a public dispute between Nwoko and Regina Daniels.

Daniels appeared in a viral video saying she could no longer tolerate violence in her marriage, a statement many interpreted as directed at the senator.

Reacting to the claim, Nwoko accused Daniels of violence, property destruction and substance abuse.

He alleged that she attacked domestic staff and destroyed household items, linking her behaviour to drug and alcohol use.

The couple, who married in 2019, have two sons together.
