Delta North Senatorial District representative senator Ned Nwoko has accused his wife, actress Regina Daniels, of violence, property destruction and substance abuse.

The senator made the allegations on Sunday in a detailed post on X (formerly Twitter) where he said Daniels had become violent and had refused to continue a rehabilitation programme for drug and alcohol use.

According to Mr Nwoko, the actress slapped and hit three domestic staff in the past 48 hours and destroyed property, including cars and windows.

He alleged that Daniels’ actions were influenced by drug and alcohol abuse.

“Regina was not always like this. Her current battle with drugs and alcohol abuse is the root of our problem. She must continue her rehabilitation program, or I fear for her life and safety,” the lawmaker wrote.

He added that he had asked her to accept rehabilitation in Asokoro or abroad, preferably in Jordan, “where she will not have access to drugs.”

Nwoko also mentioned two people he described as Daniels’ alleged drug suppliers, identifying them as Sammy, her brother and another person he called “Ann.”

The senator further alleged that Daniels threatened to harm their resident nurse after the nurse exposed her alleged substance use.

While Nwoko’s post trended online, Daniels appeared in a viral video on Saturday, saying, “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my house, I am a queen. I cannot stand the violence. It’s too much.”

Her brother, Sammy West, who was also seen in the video, accused Nwoko of assaulting his sister.

In an Instagram post, he wrote, “Anywhere wey man dey beat woman, whether na my sister or not, I go fight with my blood! Senator Ned Nwoko, you get luck say after you beat my sister again, smash her head for wall, you run comot send thugs.”

The public exchange has drawn attention to tensions in the couple’s marriage.

Ned Nwoko and Regina Daniels married in April 2019 and the union has produced two sons, Munir and Khalifa.

As of press time, Regina Daniels had not issued an official statement in response to the senator’s claims.
