NECLive 2025: Shaibu Husseini, MTN’s Aisha Umar, Colette Otusheso, others confirmed as panelists

National Film and Video Censors Board NFVCB Shaibu Husseini

Executive director of the National Films and Video Censors Board (NFVCB), Aisha Umar of MTN, Colette Otusheso of The Accelerate Media Group and filmmaker James Abinibi have been announced as part of the panelists for the 2025 edition of the Nigerian Entertainment Conference (NECLive).

NECLive 2025 is set to host one of the most influential gatherings of Nigeria’s creative industry at the Landmark Event Centre, Lagos, on Friday, November 28.

Other confirmed panelist speakers include cultural curator Qudus Onikeku, media strategist Moliehi Molekoa, Chocolate City co-founder Audu Maikori, Iretomiwa Akintunde-Johnson, Hammed Adebiyi and actress-producer Mary Njoku.

The conference, organised by Nigerian Entertainment Today in partnership with the Africa Creative Foundation, brings together leading voices across media, film, music, technology, government and investment to shape the next decade of Africa’s $4.2 billion creative economy.

Event coordination is led by Henry Ekechukwu, CEO of HUCE VALERIS and NECLive’s longest-serving coordinator, known for overseeing campaigns for Netflix, USAID, TikTok, Apple and the World Bank Group.

Since launching in 2013, NECLive has tackled issues such as poor infrastructure, limited funding, weak intellectual property protection and distribution challenges—factors that have slowed growth despite the creative sector contributing about 2.3% to Nigeria’s GDP, valued at over $4.2 billion annually.

Across nine editions, the conference has hosted more than 500 experts, welcomed over 100,000 participants, reached more than 100 million people in 50 countries and facilitated over 1,000 industry deals and partnerships.
