The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has disowned a liquid mixture being sold as vaccine for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
The agency re-emphasised in a tweet on Wednesday that there is no approved vaccine yet for the deadly disease.
“A liquid mixture is being sold with claims that it is ‘#COVID19 vaccine’. This is FALSE!” the NCDC tweeted.
“There is currently NO VACCINE or drug approved for #COVID19 prevention by health authorities.
“#TakeResponslibility Only purchase & consume drugs at accredited pharmacies or health facilities.”
The agency announced 117 new coronavirus cases in the country on Tuesday night, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 782.
