The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has been ranked among the top three federal ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) in the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR) 2024 and 2025 Website Performance Scorecard.

Out of 235 federal MDAs assessed, the commission placed second, behind Galaxy Backbone Limited, which ranked first with a score of 49 out of 50. The Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC) ranked third.

The ranking was announced during the release of the Federal Government’s 2024 and 2025 scorecard on MDA websites at the Federal Ministry of Finance auditorium in Abuja. Awards were presented at the BPSR office.

BPSR assessed the websites using 14 criteria, including use of the .gov.ng domain, design, relevance of content to agency mandates, responsiveness, security, load time, usability, uptime, functionality, interactivity, accessibility and capacity building. The assessment is part of the National e-Government Masterplan.

Receiving the award on behalf of the executive vice chairman of the commission, Dr Aminu Maida, the executive commissioner for technical services, Abraham Oshadami, said the recognition was an encouragement to strengthen public service delivery through digital platforms.

He described the award as another encouragement for the Commission to be a better public service institution, leveraging digital platforms such as our web presence to enhance public service delivery to our various stakeholders.

Other agencies listed among top performers included the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, the Federal Inland Revenue Service, the National Agricultural Insurance Corporation, the Council of Nigerian Mining Engineers and Geosciences and the State House.

The director general of the bureau, Dasuki Arabi, said the leading agencies had invested in digital platforms in line with federal government policies on transparency, accountability and ease of doing business.

He said the annual ranking, now in its sixth year, has encouraged reforms across public institutions in line with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The ranking comes weeks after NCC was listed among the top five performing agencies by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council.
