My wife’s a genius, Oscar Heman-Ackah applauds Kemi Adetiba’s To Kill a Monkey

Oscar Heman-Ackah, husband to filmmaker Kemi Adetiba, has showered praises on her following the release of her much-talked-about series To Kill a Monkey.

In a post shared on Instagram, the music executive and producer described Kemi as a “genius” while expressing admiration for her commitment to the project.

“It’s only been a few days since To Kill A Monkey was released… and already, the waves it’s making are impossible to ignore,” Oscar began.

“I’ve seen the reactions, the heated conversations, the quiet reflections… and I just want to say this: MY WIFE @kemiadetiba is a GENIUS.

“I watched her give everything to this story, her mind, her heart, her discipline, her spirit. The weight of it, the questions she wrestled with alone… and somehow, she held the entire vision with clarity and courage until it stood, exactly the way she imagined.

To Kill A Monkey is not an easy film. It’s layered, uncomfortable, and deeply human. And the way everyone is responding to it, so passionately, is a testament to the depth of her voice and the sharpness of her mind.

“I’m not surprised.
But I’m still in awe.

“Baby… I see you. I love you.
And I’m proud of you beyond measure.”

He also gave a special shout-out to Kemi’s brother Remi Adetiba, who co-produced the series, adding: “To my brother Remzinator @remiadetiba… thank you for being such a pillar and driver of this incredible woman’s vision. You navigated the craziest storms, challenges, and obstacles to produce the heck out of this. Hats off to you too, my brother. ❤️”

Oscar went on to praise the cast and crew, encouraging fans to keep streaming the show.

“You brought this story to life with such depth, and commitment. Every frame, every performance, every decision behind the scenes mattered, and it shows. You left your fingerprints on something that will stay with people for a long, long time.

And please, keep streaming the show! Even if you’ve watched it before, watch it again. You can leave it running in the background in your house sef 😅.

In fact, if we talk on the phone during this period, I want to be hearing To Kill A Monkey playing softly in the background 😂.”

Reacting to the tribute, Kemi Adetiba shared a screenshot of his post on her Instagram page on Wednesday and expressed her gratitude for his contribution to the project, especially in the area of sound.

“I just want you all to know… That my ‘husbeeend’ thinks I’m a GENIUS 😊😊🙈🥰

“BTW You people should help me thank Uncle Oscar for the incredible work he did on the music score in TKAM. Plus supervising everything involving the sound. His collaboration on this project brought the emotions to life. And believe me… It was FAR from easy.

“I’m talking early days and late nights. I’m talking days without food… Just water and a FOCUS on making sure everything in relation to SOUND on this project kicked major a***.

“You even put your own projects to the side, just to focus on mine. I’m forever grateful for the way you love up on me and everything involving me♥️

“Thank you for everything you did for TKAM baby. YOU are an absolute GENIUS and I can’t wait for you to SCATTER EVERYWHERE when you drop FINDING MESSIAH!!!ps. The streets are asking for the TKAM Soundtrack ohhh. What should I tell them 😝”
