President of the Nigerian Film Corporation and actor Ali Nuhu has spoken about his marriage, public attention around his life and how he manages intimate scenes in films.
In an interview with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Ali spoke about the way his wife responds to his career and the conversations that often follow his fame.
Speaking on the public attention surrounding his marriage and how he handles intimate scenes in movies, the actor said, “Most people keep asking my wife, ‘You’re married to a celebrity, an actor.
“’A lot of ladies admire him; they love him, but we’ve not had scandals!’ Yes, that’s because I respect her, and I respect her feelings. She does the same for me.”
According to him, he deliberately involves his wife when reviewing scripts that contain romantic or intimate scenes, ensuring she is comfortable with his roles before filming.
“You know some of those scripts I did in Asaba and Lagos that required intimacy with my co-stars. I intentionally give her the script and say, ‘Please help me read this because I’m very busy on set!
“Even though I’ve already read it, she goes through it and points out certain parts, asking, ‘Are you comfortable with this? Can you do that?’ And I tell her, ‘Yes, I’m comfortable if you’re okay with it.’”
He said this approach helps maintain trust and understanding in his marriage while balancing the demands of acting.
Ali also reacted to a death rumour about him that spread last year, describing it as “surreal,” questioning if “somebody is in a hurry for me to die” upon seeing the fake news reports.
The Nigerian Film Corporation dismissed the rumour at the time, describing it as false and urging the public to disregard it.
Ali Nuhu was appointed president of the Nigerian Film Corporation in 2024 by the federal government. He has been married for many years and has children.
