Auto dealer Ikechukwu Ogbonna, popularly known as IVD, has made fresh allegations about his late wife, Bimbo Martins, during an appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast alongside his fiancée, Blessing Okoro, also known as Blessing CEO.
Speaking with hosts including media personality Daddy Freeze, IVD claimed his late wife caused him repeated emotional and public distress during their time together.
“Whenever my late wife started her drama I used to leave the house but my daughter would send a VN to me to come back and I would,” he said.
“She was very dramatic. She was fightng me everywhere. Everyone knows. She would come to my office and give me a dirty slap for doing nothing. My in-laws paid blogs to defame me after my wife passed away. They said I was violent and I had HIV. I did my HIV test at Evercare and it was negative. They took all my property, her property and my 5 kids away. Till now I have not set eyes on my kids.”
IVD also became emotional while discussing his current relationship, expressing deep gratitude to Blessing CEO for standing by him through his darkest moments.
“Blessing was there for me when I was down and wanted to commit su!c!de. I used to be an ashawo boy before but right now I am fully committed to her. I have never and will never cheat on her. I shed tears when she was wearing her wedding gowns. I have never experienced such with any woman. My late wife and I only did traditional. The wedding gowns fit Blessing so much. She put on 36 wedding gowns and I cried 36 times.”
Bimbo Martins died in October 2022 after a fire incident at the couple’s Lekki home. Her death drew widespread attention and outrage, with many accusing IVD of domestic abuse. In early 2023, the Lagos State Government charged him with involuntary manslaughter.
Amid the controversy, Blessing CEO gained notoriety for publicly defending IVD. Her outspoken support led to her arrest in March 2023 over allegations of cyberbullying and defamation targeted at Bimbo’s family and other critics. She was later released on bail.
Despite the unresolved legal issues, IVD and Blessing have continued their relationship and are currently preparing for their wedding.
Meanwhile, on Tuesday, Bimbo’s sister Folashade took to Instagram to commemorate what would have been her sister’s 36th birthday. Sharing a video of Bimbo dancing, she captioned it, “My guidance angel.”
