MTN Nigeria has announced a profit after tax of N750.2bn, marking a major financial rebound for the telecommunications company.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the company said women occupy over 45 percent of its leadership positions.

It added that this distribution continues to influence its corporate direction and long-term plans.

Chief executive officer Karl Toriola said the results were driven by strategic and commercial initiatives, focus on efficiency and financial management.

He said the management team’s local expertise played a key role in navigating Nigeria’s macroeconomic environment.

“This outcome is anchored in the core pillars of our Ambition Beyond 2025, which have led to a 57.5 percent increase in service revenue,” Mr Toriola said.

The company said its growth is tied to continued investment in network capacity and customer experience.

Capital expenditure, excluding leases, rose to N757.4bn.

MTN said it remains ahead in the country’s digital sector.

It is the first operator to reach over 82 percent 4G population coverage and the first to roll out 5G.

According to the firm, these milestones support wider access to connectivity.

The company’s expansion also extends to financial services through its MoMo platform, which now has 2.9 million active wallets.

It reported a 72.5 percent rise in fintech revenue.

MTN Nigeria said it has contributed over N6.9tn to the government through taxes, levies and duties.

Its foundation has also invested N32.23bn in projects covering education, health and social impact.

Karl Toriola said the company’s performance reflects the work of its management team, its use of resources and its focus on improving digital access.

MTN Nigeria said its results show the role of leadership, gender representation and targeted investment in supporting growth and contributing to the country’s socioeconomic development.
