Singer Fola has shared a memorable gesture from late artiste Mohbad that he says he will never forget.
In an interview, Fola was asked who he would like to share a Coke with if given the chance. He chose Mohbad and explained why the late singer still holds a special place in his heart.
“I would like to share a Coke with Mohbad. RIP to Mohbad, I can’t forget, he bought me my first iPhone. He bought me an iPhone 6 in 2019. I still miss him, and I still wanna share a Coke with him,” he said.
Fola explained that the iPhone gift came at a crucial time when he was still trying to establish his music career. Before moving to Lagos to pursue music full-time, he was working and saving money to support his passion.
He said Mohbad’s support went beyond material help, adding that the late singer also helped him connect with people in the industry, which contributed to his growth as an artiste.
Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, died on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27.
