Actress Mo Bimpe has publicly called out a YouTube channel named Mobimpewrite’s Stories for impersonating her and stealing her original content.
Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, the 28-year-old shared screenshots of videos and posts from the channel, which she claimed were direct copies of her work, including movie posters, videos and even personal messages.
“I’m TIRED. I’m FED UP,” Mo Bimpe wrote in the caption.
“Someone created a YouTube channel named MOBIMPEWRITE’s STORIES just to copy EVERYTHING I do. Video for video. Poster for poster. She literally waits for me to post, then uploads the same thing tricking people into believing it’s me.”
The actress said the impersonator went as far as copying her birthday message to her mother, reposting it on their own platform as if it were theirs.
“That’s not inspiration. That’s disrespectful,” she added.
“She’s gaining subscribers, followers, likes, and comments, growing off my hard work and deceiving people who think it’s me.”
Mo Bimpe revealed that her team had attempted to report the YouTube channel but said the person behind the page had persisted in stealing her content.
The actress, who is married to fellow actor Lateef Adedimeji, also used the opportunity to appeal to fans for help in reporting the impersonating channel to YouTube.
“This person is determined to keep stealing my work, my sweat, my ideas, my creativity,” she lamented.
“What you’re doing is deeply wrong. You’re impersonating me and deceiving people and one thing I can assure you is this: you will be caught. Soon.”
The actress concluded by expressing her frustration at people who build platforms by hijacking the work of others.
She also asked for legal or technical advice on how to permanently take down the impersonating channel.
“I built MOBIMPE TV with tears, passion, and consistency, and I won’t let someone else ruin that or hijack what I’ve poured my heart and soul into.”
Mo Bimpe, whose name is Adebimpe Oyebade, is known for her roles in Yoruba-language films and has steadily grown her brand over the years.
She runs Mo Bimpe TV, her official YouTube channel where she shares content including behind-the-scenes footage, personal moments and film productions.
