Grumpy, one of the internet’s most famous cats has died this week at seven after battling a urinary tract infection.
Grumpy’s owners announced her death on social media with a sober message on Friday.
The cat, whose real name was Tardar Sauce, rose to fame after a picture of her showing her signature grumpy look went viral in 2012, when she was just five months old.
Her world-famous expression was the result of a birth defect, and her owners turned her popularity into a multimillion-dollar empire, with merchandise, books and a movie.
The feline’s fortune is reported to have passed over $100 million during her lifetime.
Grumpy Cat enjoyed followership of over 10 million people across social media.
