Minister of State for Defence Bello Matawalle is set to host a joint wedding ceremony for nine of his children on the same day.
The ceremony is scheduled to hold on February 6 at the Central Mosque in Abuja.
Details of the event emerged after a general invitation card announcing the date and venue circulated on social media.
Further wedding cards later disclosed the names of some of the couples.
Those set to marry include former speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, Nasiru Magarya, who will wed Nana Matawalle.
Ibrahim Liman is to marry Farida Matawalle, while Safiya Matawalle will be joined in marriage to Yazid Fulani.
Another daughter of the minister, Aisha Matawalle, is scheduled to marry Umar Danmaliki.
The names of the minister’s children listed on the invitation card are Ibrahim, Suraj, Safiya, Maryam, Aisha, Fahad, Muh’d, Nana Firdausi, and Farida.
Speaking on Saturday, the All Progressives Congress spokesperson in Zamfara State, Yusuf Idris, said the nine children include five sons and four daughters.
He said the ceremony would take place at the Central Mosque in Abuja at 1:30 pm, adding that preparations for the event were ongoing.
He said, “By the grace of God, the ceremony will be conducted at the Abuja Central Mosque on February 6. I also want to say that the minister’s children who are getting married are five sons and four daughters.
“I am among the committee members for this great occasion, and as I speak to you now, arrangements have reached an advanced stage to ensure a smooth ceremony in Abuja next month.”
Bello Matawalle, a former governor of Zamfara State, is married to four wives: Aisha, Balkisu, Fatima, and Dadiya.
