Actress and reality TV star Bisola Aiyeola has said she is no longer actively looking forward to marriage or having more children.
Speaking on the Dear Ife podcast hosted by Ifedayo Agoro, the 39-year-old explained that marriage is not something she is desperate for.
“I’m not really keen on marriage any longer. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, it’s okay too,” she said.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate added that she had previously set a personal age limit for childbearing.
“I gave myself an age marker; I don’t want to have babies after I clock 38. I have passed 38 and no man yet, so, I am just here and not actively looking forward to it,” she said.
Bisola, who has a daughter, also spoke about her current outlook on love and relationships.
“I think I have gotten used to being alone. I love love, I still do. Love is sweet, it’s nice, it’s a beautiful thing, but reality is a different story,” she said.
“Marriage is not a do-or-die affair. There are so many more things one can aspire to be besides getting married. I am not desperate for marriage.”
Bisola rose to fame as the first runner-up on Big Brother Naija in 2017 and has since built a successful career in acting and presenting, starring in films and TV shows such as Sugar Rush, This Lady Called Life and Flawsome.
In June, Bisola celebrated her daughter Leyla’s 16th birthday, gifting her an iPhone and an Apple Watch as her first phone. The surprise left the teenager emotional, as she broke down in tears in a video that went viral on social media.
Sharing the moment on Instagram, Bisola wrote: “My princess is 16 today, Fam, and yes, guys, I’m emotional. God has truly been good and kind to me and my family. I can’t believe my baby is so grown… and yes, she’s finally gotten her phone.”
Leyla, who has also made appearances alongside her mother at events like the AMVCA Cultural Night, was praised online for her humility and gratitude.
