Veteran actress Mama Rainbow has shared an old video from the classic Yoruba film Koto Aye, prompting reactions from fans who reflected on the movie and remembered late actor Koledowo Oyiboyi, popularly known as Koledowo.
She shared the video on her Instagram page on Thursday with the caption, “I give all glory and appreciation to God Almighty for the gift of life. In a world where many have passed on, I remain here today — breathing, standing, and still able to contribute. I do not take this grace for granted.
“As one of the veteran actors in Nigeria, I am deeply grateful for the journey, the experiences, and the strength to continue inspiring others through my craft. Every day alive is a testimony of God’s mercy, protection, and purpose over my life. Ese baba 🙏”
Many fans took to the comment section to reflect on the film, while some mourned Koledowo, who featured in the production.
Koto Aye is a popular Yoruba language horror film produced by the late Yekinni Ajileye. Released as a sequel to Koto Orun, the film became known for its spiritual themes and suspense driven storytelling. It remains one of the early Yoruba films often referenced for its influence on traditional supernatural stories in Nigerian cinema.
Mama Rainbow, whose real name is Idowu Philips, began her acting career in the Yoruba travelling theatre before moving into film. She has remained active in the industry for decades and is regarded as one of the veteran figures who contributed to the growth of Yoruba language cinema and early Nollywood.
